Three Long Island airports will get $5.4 million if federal funding, officials said Wednesday.
The funding for Long Island MacArthur, Brookhaven, and Francis S. Gabreski airports is through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program. That program was bolstered by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which garnered bipartisan support, and will be used to revitalize terminals and enhance airfield safety.
MacArthur will receive $4 million, Brookhaven $1.2 million and Gabreski $191,000.
